Bishop David Oyedepo shares Insights on Understanding the Covenant at Day 3 of TFOLC Word Explosion Conference 2018.
On Tuesday, April 10, 2018, Guest
Minister, Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Tabernacle, at the Day 3 Word
Explosion Conference 2018, shares powerful and instructive insights on understanding the covenant.
Defining the word Covenant, the
Bishop said “Covenant is a deal enacted by God on a clear terms and sealed by
an oath. It is a spiritual transaction we commit God to make good His promise”.
Speaking on revelation as it relates to
our understanding of the covenant, he said “Every revelation produces to the
level of our understanding of it. Our covenant mentality is key to fulfilling
our glorious destiny. Covenant mentality will deliver on too many days of
fasting”.
Referencing the following
scripture verses Matt 13:33, 2Cor. 5:17-20, Joshua 11:45, Luke 19:17-19, Psalm
89:34, 2Cor. 11:3, Jere. 33:21-26, Prov. 14:28, John 15:16, Daniel 12:3, Prov.
11:30; 13:17, 1Tim. 2:4, Psa. 73: 17, Matthew 6:33 and 2Chro. 15:12, He
expressed that as believers, we have a growing destiny in Christ, and there is
no limit on our destiny because the covenant puts us in command over all
prevailing circumstance in life. But unfortunately, said Bishop Oyedepo, too
many Christians don’t know there covenant rights.
“We don’t have to beg to be blessed, we serve to be blessed. You don’t
pray to be enthroned, you serve your way to the throne. You don’t have to pray
for promotion, just serve. Sitting down in church doing nothing never changes
anybody’s position. It is your responsibility to know what your path is in any
deal in scriptures and subscribe to it. There is no promises of scriptures
without conditions attached. There is no private revelation in the scripture,
whatever the word says applies to whoever is interested. There is no respect of
persons in God, Faith is simply sharing responsibility with God in the face of
the scriptures. No fasting can break scriptures. God relate on the platform of
our covenant mentality. Everything with God applies to anybody who believes
only, not just the Pastors, Apostles and Bishops. Every scripture provide
opportunity to us to make our choice”, he said.
Talking about soul winning as
every believers’ responsibility and our choices as Christians, he said the good
news in life is, it is never late to be right. Adding that;
“Your
choice that God respect, the devil respect too. Our spiritual stewardship
(through evangelism and soul-winning) is far superior and cannot be compared to
any other stewardship. Heaven cannot celebrate your input and you won’t become
a celebrity at the end of the day. As believers’ who understands the covenant,
everything that troubles others trembles at your instant when God is with you.
Soul winning is not a gift, it is not a calling, is it every believers’ responsibility.
If you are on the go for Jesus, He goes with you. God with you keeps things
working all the time. Lay aside your reputation so you don’t die in your
frustration. The truth is nobody ever loves Jesus at a loose. Everyone that win
souls hardly backslide. Free your life by advertising Jesus. Those who preach
Jesus hardly slide back. As you begin to move with Him, He keeps moving you
forward. Turning many to righteousness makes eternal stars. You are on your way
to the throne winning souls. Have a soul winning project per week”.
“His presence makes me fearless.
Any time, any day, a Lion is a Lion whether asleep or awake. There is no week I
don’t reach out in evangelism from street to street, corner to corner. Why
won’t all these things other people seek
be added unto me?’ Every covenant you enter into has the capacity to endure
for generations” He said.
