OF CURIOSITY AND OVER-ANXIETY: THE RESULTANT EFFECT OF BEING ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING

By Exponent Samuel Adu

The writer of this piece is not oblivious of the goodness of curiosity. Of course, I'm quite aware that curiosity in most cases has been the basement or the hallmark of most fantastic innovations and witty inventions that has today alter the life of the human race.

Curiosity and her twin brother anxiety are two inseparable nature of man. Man has been curious and anxious since birth, questioning anything and everything around him even his existence. Little wonder, we have so many theorist and experts out there formulating principles and practices that we even spent four years to study in higher institutions.

Its serious.

Okies.

I know of the idea that says 'Curiosity killed the Cat' but I'm also very sure that anxiety can kill a man!
The Good Book says: Be anxious for nothing...Phil.4:6

Yes, it is not every thing that you should be inquisitive about. For God's sake, you can't even know everything. Certainly, not. A Jack of all trade, I believe, is a master of nonsense!

Trying to know and do everything can get your fingers burnt!

Yes, the story below substantiates my claims:

There is the story of this man standing by a river side. In the course of his eyes gazing at the river, enjoying the beauty of God's handiwork. He saw a notice board in the middle of the river, he tried all his best to read it but couldn't.

Agitated, curious, anxious and eager to know what was written on the notice board, he jumped inside the river. So he swam to the board in the middle of the river and read: "DANGER! CROCODILES INSIDE, PLEASE DON'T SWIM!"

Lobatan.

If and only if we can be less anxious for nothing and less curious in our unending quest to know, many homes will remain blissful, our roads will be accidents free, relationships will flourish, mortality rate would reduce, this world would be a better place.

Ok, back to our story, please help me describe the man in one word.
